A Beautiful Time

This week's Theme is Beautiful

My pick for beautiful is summer time. Summer is always a beautiful time. Here are two photos from the month which I think are very beautiful.

Vancouver Aquarium jellyfish

Sunset at Ambleside

I am moving, so I am not sure if I will have time to visit sites. I'll have much more time next week.

A Name

Here's my way of procrastinating and not packing!

What Expat Means

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are incredibly sexy and sensual. You have a naughty vibe that no one can ignore.

You have an unquenchable desire. And you are unrestrained in your passions.

You have a tendency to be unfaithful. Whether you fight it or give in to it is up to you.

You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people.

Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems.

Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.

You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.

You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

Wiped Out

I moved half of our place this weekend. I went to get out of bed this morning and that didn't exactly work..

I guess I really went overboard from a weekend of packing, lifting and sweating in the humid, raining air.. It's hard work...

Photo Hunt - Wrinkled

Waiting For Rain
Originally uploaded by thnkfst
This photo hunt was really hard for me to pick out the WRINKLED theme from the photos I've taken recently along with all of my packing that I'm doing and not spending time on the computer...

So here is my attempt at finding something that "could" fit...

wrin·kle (rngkl)
n.
1. A small furrow, ridge, or crease on a normally smooth surface, caused by crumpling, folding, or shrinking.
2. A line or crease in the skin, as from age.
4. A problem or imperfection; a fault:

Doesn't this photo fit the definition!

This is at the Reifel bird sanctuary where the birds will be migrating back in another month or so...

I'm Moving

Well it's official. I'm taking a large leap and a new turning point in my life. We are packing up and moving to Victoria, BC. I'll be living quite coastal, enjoying sunsets, dryer weather and photographing more.

I have a lot to do before we move at months end. In some ways, pflight's visit was unknowingly my way of being able to visit many of the places I loved before saying goodbye to Vancouver. I'll be back from time to time, but my new home is going to be on the Island. It will be much smaller, more European like and very close to everything.

I do hope to post some more photos when I get breaks, but for now I just have a lot of packing to do.

Departures

Departures are never fun. Today Pflight left Vancouver to go back to Switzerland. It hit me like a freight train immediately and will be so different. I'm sure it was much the same for him.

The memories will however be ever lasting on his first visit to Canada. He's definitely an incredible photographer and I enjoy his photo hunting company a lot.

We couldn't have asked for a better night last night. Dinner was outdoors with friends and so tasty and so much fun. Who knew we would get an incredible sunset and a full moon rise right in front of our eyes. Incredible can be my only reaction..

I have a lot of changes and a lot of things in store for the next few weeks. I'm going to be away from the computer but hope to post some great photos which always make me smile.

Definitely an incredible way to end the visit! Next stop Switzerland!

We Are Back

Our weekend was a lot of fun. We did the simplest, easiest camping I've practically ever done. Really you can't call it camping, but it was busy and very fun.

I'm tired but wanted to show you something from someone I met this weekend, a great photographer. This is her work.

Please comment and let me know if you can access Luvu2.com, especially in Canada. One dollar for an email message sent will go to fight aids. It's a great cause and a great photo set.

(update: Unfortunately This campaign only works in Canada,The "One-Life" campaign is strictly a Canadian initiative. Therefore this site can only be accessed by Canadians. Thank you for your understanding")

I'm out sight seeing and taking a mini vacation. I don't plan on blogging but love posting a photo every hunt. I just had to post on lucky 8's!

Touring Vancouver Continued

Because I'm very tired and am ready to relax, let me just tell you that you are welcome to read PFlight's version of what we have done this week so far. He writes it in German and English and has some beautiful photos.
