My paternal grandmother had an apartment on the ground floor of a building right across from the park. From the time I was 7 or 8 until she left to go into a nursing home we'd take the ferry from the mainland about 3-4 times a year to visit. We loved that park. (There was also a great place to get ice cream just up the road from my gran's heading south on the west side.) As is often the case, when you go back as an adult it seems a lot smaller than the world you'd imagined it to be as a kid.ian in hamburghttp://lettershometoyou.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
