I never wear hats

This weeks Theme is Hat(s)
Go to Tnchick.com to participate

With today's photo hunt, I really had trouble finding a photo of myself in a hat. So I decided to pull out a recent photo with a beanie as we call them in California or a Tuque as you call them in Canada. When I first came to Canada, I had no clue what this Tuque thing was and it took me a day or two to figure out that it was a "hat".

(Brr - It was a cold walk, see all of my layers - along the beach of Victoria)

A tuque (Canadian French: tuque, sometimes also spelled toque or touque in English) is a knitted hat, originally of wool though now often of synthetic fibers, that is designed to provide warmth in winter. The tuque usually is considered Canada's national winter hat, much like the fur hat is in Russia.

Happy Hunting - and have a great weekend!

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Noticed you posted your hat entry. Like you I had some trouble in finding a photo of myself with a hat. In fact I wonder if I have one. So I came up with some other entries. Will be posting PH tomorrow morning.

BTW it looks as if it is very cold over on your side. We just had our share and I'm glad temperatures are back to normal.

  5. I was hoping for an exotic Swiss hat here but no, you went with a Canadian one. I don't think I actually have a toque but I do have a Russian style fur hat. Happy weekend Expat.

  8. Thanks for visiting us at snap2Days. I forgot to answer your question on Carver's Sight. Believe it or not I have worn most of my hats at one point or another. The thing is I don't get rid of old ones and people know I like hats so I get a lot of them for gifts. I have even more hats than I photographed. I could probably wear a different hat for every day of the year, ha.

  29. You know how we differentiate between Americans and Canadians here in Canada? Real Canadians uses the word toque and Americans use the word beanies. :)
