Being a Tourist Around Victoria

So as if all heatwaves go quicker than they arrive, my friend Sylvie could not understand what we were talking about upon her arrival at 20C and cooler temperatures for Victoria.  Well we tried to impress her with the heat, but unfortunately it did not stick around long enough for her visit.

Day 1 started off with a visit to Butchart Gardens for the first time!  Yup, I've been living in Victoria for 2 years now and I had yet to visit.  It was a fun visit, but way too touristy for my liking.  I'll pass on going back again, unless a few photo bloggers make an appearance in town one day.

Here's a look at the days photos.

That was most of the tour of the gardens.  We kept on moving as tourists by the hundreds arrived and it got very crowded!

We toured the city of Sydney for lunch and ended  up stopping for a great mini hike at Mt. Doug.  It was definitely a jam packed day of beauty.

The harbor is gorgeous as usual, and I love the picture of the bell-like flowers.

The temperature is going up and down, up and down here too...

  3. Jen, you know, the Flowers in the Wonderful Park and even the water Lilies are very similar to those we watched in The Botanical Garden in Oslo last Sunday.... Maybe telepatie is out here?

As usual my compliments for excellent photos. You really have the eye for good nature photography.

btw. Yes, we missed you at the OsloBG.

  5. Ah, yes, another beautiful flower-filled Victoria summer. I remember excursions up Mt. Douglas and a couple of school field trips to the Butchart Gardens, way back in the 1970s! I heard a rumour that the gardens were closing for good some time soon. You ever hear talk of this?
