I went out and with great intensions last night to upload from my photo shoot yesterday.  I guess fatigue got the best of me and I still decided to pick the "just in case" photo I chose before I went out for the shoot.

Overlooking the North Shore Mountains and a giant piece of METAL art.
I think I really do need to get with the season with some snow shots for you now!

I will be away swimming in a competition once again.  Hopefully I will have a bit of time to pop in and see all of your photo hunts.

Happy Thanksgiving US

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US. It is also the last day before the Christmas season gets in full swing. I've heard places such as Walmart are even opening up at 5am in anticipation of these sales...

Possibly I will have enough time to duck in and take a photo of some Christmas lights before the big lines hit Canada too.

Here's a look at my morning view of the mountains.

Weekend Update

So it had been 1 year since my last swim meet.. And I think it turned out pretty well. The travel always kills me and I was quite tired by the time I arrived back home on Sunday evening..

My times were not earth shattering at all but here they are..

400m Free - 2nd in my heat - 1st overall in age group. 5:10.25
100m back - 2nd in my heat - 2nd overall in age group. 1:16.57
100m breast - 8th overall (last in heat) - 1st overall in age group. 1:24.31
(not my best time)
100m fly - 5th overall , 2nd to another female- 1st overall in age group. 1:15.07

Here's one photo from the meet of me.

I only know it's me because of the blue goggles, at UBC.

In other news, Sabine let me know that the Today show was doing their travel show this week which I JUST LOVE. Here's a link to some of what is happening.

Ruined

Ruined Mushroom? Far from perfect, at least.

Can you spot the one with the bite in it?

Last weekend I found these elegant mushrooms outside next to a tree. I've wanted to see these mushrooms for years and finally, they appear in front of my eyes. I guess I might add that I ruined my chance to take great photos because I didn't have my camera with me!

This weekend I am at a swim competition and will be very busy traveling. I won't have computer access so I will do my best to do what I can to visit blogs.

Happy Hunting!

Cheapest Places to Live

A 2008 cost of living survey by Credit Suisse just came out in Switzerland. The survey identifies the cheapest places to live in Switzerland. Yes I know there really isn't a cheap place to live in Switzerland but it's a rather interesting report.

So were are Switzerland's cheapest place to live? The cheapest places to live do vary greatly from one Canton to the next, but there is a clear winner this year.

The survey gave a hypothetical example of a family with two children and a gross income of SFr156,600 ($133,000 ) living in a bought home. The report calculates that such a family would have SFr36,800 left over from taxes and fixed costs in the community of Bettingen, canton Basel City, but SFr61,400 if it lived in Rheinfelden, canton Aargau.

COST OF LIVING SURVEY 2008

The Credit Suisse 2008 cost of living survey ranked the 26 cantons by measuring the disposable income of inhabitants: (The last survey was taken in 2006, and is shown below.)
